Rental places in Bangalore
Fellow B'lore residents and other persons with familiarity on topic,
I need to get an idea of rental expenses for a 2 BR apartment in or close to Koramangla. I've been told by friends here that it could be anywhere from Rs.10k - 35k depending on the kind of place and amenities. Could someone give me a little input on this. All I am concerned about is proximity to Koramangla and generally a safe/clean/decent place. I would be looking at long term accomodation so a 1+ year lease wouldn't be an issue. And I do not want to know about PG accomodation or sharing for now. Thanks in advance. |

Hey lady Runner
Who said it will cost 10k to 35k in koramangala...maybe they were duped i belive...or it could be a furnished accommodation...Well u can get good accommodations in and around Koramangala...if you are looking at flats then u may get it starting from 5k....independent houses then upwards 10k...but what i suggest is better look for locations like Jayanagar closer by to Koramangala and good decent locality and wonderful places to hangout... eatout..shopping...religious places etc....good IT companies nearby also for job aspirants...but on the whole be prepared to shell out one months rent as brokerage to agents...or if u hve friends then figureout from them...anymore info u wann letme know i shall help u out...my company is in koramangala and its the worlds largest IT company...go an hint.

Hmm, now that sounds far more reasonable 5-10k See that's why I had to ask the experts here As far as a security deposit is there a standard or whatever the landlord requests, i.e. 10-12 months? Yes my office will be in Koramangala, so I'd like to be close to the area. Bangalore here I come...almost ![]() |

Hey
So i belive you are all set to set base in Bangalore...Well if you are looking for flats or houses non-furnished then you can get those wthin your price range...well i was just not talkin about the 12 months deposit..but what i was tellin u was if you get a house through an agent u will landup payin one month house rent as his commission...so keep a watch on local tabloids or websites where u can locate ur dream house and save on that commission part...or what u can do is maybe in your office notice boards if they display like the availability of houses by owners then u can check it out...just like it happens in my office... cuz we have so many display directly by owners in and around koramangala then am sure it should be there in your office too.

Well, if your office is in Koramangala then why not stay in Koramangala itself
![]() The rentals there are also in the range of 6k-12 k/month for a decent/clean 2 BHK accomodation. And it is one of the better localities in Bangalore. If your office is in Koramangala then I wouldnt suggest Jayanagar coz then you have to cross that jam packed HOSUR road everyday, twice !!! You can search for the house through ad-mag or free-ads, both are weekly advertisement magazines. 35k/m houses are also available, depending on the size of apartments and the add-on facilities. Cheers, and welcome to Bangalore ![]() |

Hi,
Are you sure that Company leased accomodation is not a possibility ? I mean, could the organisation you are working for lease some accomodation for you to live in ? That would save you from shelling out 10 month's rent as security deposit. If you are forced to rent the place for yourself, then I would suggest two routes: - Find a place through any online notice boards / forums that your organisation might have. This is definitely better from a trust angle, and saves you one month's rent as agent fees. - Go through a broker, perhaps somebody recommended by the HR people in your organisation. It's good to have a trusted agent who will ensure the paperwork gets done. Since Bangalore has this wierd system by which you must trust your landlord with 10 month's rent as security deposit, you must have the lease rental agreement duly signed by all parties. HTH, Vishal |
