Question about contact lenses and bookstores in Bangalore
Hello,
I am leaving for Bangalore in a few days. I will be living there for year and don't know much about the city. I wanted to know if contact lenses are more or less expensive to buy in Bangalore than in the US. What about electronics? (I need to buy a Tripod). Also, are there bookstores that sell high-quality books about digital photography and electronics? Thanks! |

Hi ,
With respect to your query "are there bookstores that sell high-quality books about digital photography and electronics? ", i can suggest you some names & locations of the book stores.. 1) Lankmark in Forum,Koramangala 2) Gangarams in MG Road 3) Higginbothams in MG Road 4) Crosswords near MG Road 5) Tata Book House in IISC Campus,Yeswantpur Tata Book house is having huge stock of technical books. Gangarams and HigginBothams are also good. As per as contact lens are concerned , You can check it in Lawrence and Mayo(http://www.lawrenceandmayo.co.in/) You can find their outlets at lots of places.. Hope it will help.. Thanks, Debajyoti |

Contact lense are around 2000 rs a pair. Those are for an year.
If you are using a point n shoot cam, you can go in for a local made tripod, below 1000 rs. You can get them at SP road / national market if using a DSLR, buy it from one of the above mentioned shops. Can also try GK vale outlets

Bookstore-my favourite!
Also to consider my favourite... Blossoms located off Brigade Road in Church Street... A mix between second hand books and new books on 3 floors. Lovely staff and possibility of ordering books for you too!
Also to consider if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle flipkart.com is a great start. Perfect customer service and wide array of titles available, and... free delivery! Hope this helps! Have a great time in Bangalore ![]() |

Electronics - You better bring what you want. You may not get the choices what you want at bargain prices like how you would back home. Books - Yeah. You do have bookstores like in the US and get pretty much everything you want. Even if you dont find something, you can always order them online ![]()
