Please rate these parts of Bangalore

Hello

I need some local opinions on these localities as places to stay: Frazer Town/Coles Park, Domlur, Indiranagar II Stage, Victoria Layout. My office is at MG Road and I've tentatively zeroed in on these places.

Can some Bangaloreans rate these areas in terms of overall desirability as a neighbourhood (cleanliness, quietness etc), accessibility (looks like I'm going to be using autos to get around for the most part), availability of shops and so on, and anything else you care to mention.

Would also like some opinions on Langford Town, though it would seem to be slightly more expensive rent-wise.

Thanks in advance.

I would say that Indirinagar i probably the best location for you from those, good shopping and entertainment and retaurants and pretty quick access to MG Road and the airport. No idea of current rents there though but I would say they are on the rise!

Cheers

I don't want to pay more than 9K for a 1BHK flat *about 600 sq ft), ideally. I had half a look around when I was in Bangalore recently and there were lots of houses, or parts of houses, but fewer flats, for rent, and they were invariably more expensive.

Thanks for those replies. Koramangala is a little further away from MG Road than I wanted to be, but it looks like I may have to seriously look at it as an option. What is the traffic like from Koramangala to MG Road and back (as against from Indiranagar to MG Road and back) on average, any idea?

Also, are there alternate routes one can take if the main one is jammed?

from kormangala to mg road u take the road with bosch office on it n go straight down, take a left before the residency road junction(residency road is now a one way so dont go that far)
from indiranagar u could either take the airport road(the shortest route) but traffic on that road is always bad , esp now with a flyover coming up on that road at the airport road-indiranagar 100feet road junction. alternative route for that is to go down the cmh road(much better as far as traffic goes n not that v far either) & join mg road at the kidskemp junction

Just an update...the place behind sony showroom is 4th block [ not 7th ].sorry for that.
From kormangla 4th block u have to go to domlur cirlce & then take a left from there. There is an internal road howerver u should be familiar with it.For more details u can buy the EICHER map booklet.

Thanks for those inputs. I've seen that houses are more common than apartment buildingsin many parts of Bangalore. Does Indiranagar have a higher proportion of apartments, as compared to, say, places like Cox Town, Cambridge Layout etc? Also 1BHK/studio type flats seem harder to come by than 2BHKs and bigger apartments. Are there any areas where this does not apply so much?

indiranagar has more houses than apts but some are now being converted to 2-3 apt complexes, they are expensive though. my professor was staying in an apt like this...fully furnished thing was some 60k rent for a 3bhk duplex.
u mite find a 1bhk houses/apts even in frazer town.
