There are tons of real estate agents in Bangalore. Some of the big names are Ferozes real estates, Hanu reddy, CB Richard Ellis, DTZ, Silverline,Propmart, Sevenraj, Berrys, Emerald realty, Settler,Tirupati Estates, Collierrs JArdine etc...
For buying/selling property the comission is 2% negotiable and for rentals, its one month rent negotiable. Plus all the big builders sell / rent there own property direclty where u can avoid comission if u contact them direclty. Some of the big builders are Sobha Constructions, Prestige Constructions, Purvankara, Salarpuria, Nitesh Estates, Mantri builders, Brigade constructions, Adarsh to name a few. Hope this helps....Cheers..! |

Brokerage on rentals can be anything between 15-40 days. Negotiate on it, keep in mind that a security deposit will also be needed which is normally 2 months rent..

That's true. I was surprised that it was only 1-2 months rent as advance here in Gurgaon. In Bangalore, most companies pay 10 months rent as advance to its employees and will deduct in their salary. I don't know why its so high in Bangalore, but that's true.

Ameliemon,
Welcome. I will assume, like the rest here, you are looking to rent and not purchase? Commission is typically paid by the landlord who appoints the agent. So, even if you find an agent, he/she will only show you the apartments that he has a contract with the landlord. Not the best system. Most apartments available for rent are advertised, either in the local newspapers, on websites (like indiaproperties.com) or craigslist. If you are willing to pay for someone who will take you around and show you apartments that meet your requirements, you will have to use a conceirge service like http://www.superseva.com/bangalore/personal.asp. Or I can recommend someone. .PM me if interested, |

Will be interesting to figure out why...whether its nothing more than the market trend there or there is some angle at play..
