Manali to Jammu Travel

Hi,

I am planning for a travel to Manali on 26th Oct 2009 and from there would like to visit Vaishno Devi Temple. Could anyone help me in guiding me the way to travel from Manali to Jammu (Katra).

Come from Manali to Ambala by any bus and then take train to Jammu. Jammu to Katra is by bus only.

Or may do following in bus:

Manali - Dharamshala
Dharamshala - Pathankot
Pathankot - Jammu

Thank you for quick reply, I am travelling with my wife, brother & his wife. Can we take a cab from Manali to Ambala, how far is it and how much will it cost.

I am also looking for a good hotel in Manali (not very expensive) could you suggest me any.

By a taxi it will be better to travel to all the way to Jammu... but it will be costly it will be somewhere around Rs. 6000 as the to & fro distance will be almost 1000 KMs.

You may checkout Hotel New Adarash at the Mall. It's an economy class hotel.
