Looking for driver with car

Hello,

I'm going to be living in RR Nagar, on Mysore road, about 45 minutes to the center of Bangalore (with traffic) and am looking for a driver with his own car for about 12 hours a day. I would need to be taken to Kumbalagudu, which is about 20 min from RR Nagar, going away from Bangalore city.

What are the going rates for drivers per month and how do I go about finding one? Can anyone recommend anyone?

I know somebody who undertakes such assignments...His current contract is due for completion in a month.

Hi,

You have to be very careful while choosing a driver. This is for your safety and please go for a well known Travel Agencies while going in for the driver. There are travel agents like SRS etc which are quite reputed. Alternatively you may call Just Dial in Bangalore to get the list of reputed Travel Agency. Rates should be around INR 6.50 per KM for an AC car. If you need any help on this just PM me.

Assuming you have your own car, you get drivers on monthly salary basis for around rs. 4-6k/month. Since you are looking for a cab with driver, stick to reputed agencies.

Like someone mentioned, you need to be careful about the background of the driver from a safety aspect if you are hiring from pvt or use your own car. You wont go wrong if you go with some recommendation. It would go a long way in being comfortable with a known (recommended) person that a stranger who drives you around.

If you plan to travel rarely (not very often), you may even think of renting taxis like Meru or easycab services.

anathapur is roughly 150 kms from bangalore airport and it might take around 3 1/2 hours of journey by car.

I haven't come across one. It may be there, but I have never bothered to look for one.

The services are pretty good now with Meru & Easycab (taxis) and they charge you by the distance travelled. These are the only taxis available there, even tho some people may approach you for a taxi.

If you knw the distance to be travelled, you can multiply it with 15Rs/km (or 1.5times that if you are travelling late in the night) and try to negotiate with the people who approach you.

Alternatively: Try the BMTC bus service (govt buses - volvos with all comforts) to all nook & corners of the city If you are comfortable, give it a try for a safe & economical mode fo travel.

I am sorry if there is a better place to post this message, but i guessed the person i will talk about, will mostly find this here. I found an offine in my Yahoo Messenger some minutes ago. It was from an IM member and he/she asked me about the driver that had served us in our stay in India last June. I had a problem with the conection before i could reply and since the person is not in my list of contacts, i lost the offline. So could not reply in Yahoo anymore.
