Leaving Luggage/Laptop in Bangalore for a week
So, for my last week of travel around Kerala, I would like to leave my heavier suitcase and laptop in Bangalore. Are cloak rooms/left luggage places in Bangalore secure, as long as the suitcase is locked, for a week storage of a fairly big wheeled suitcase (with laptop inside)?

If you are getting a good vibe from the people in your hotel in bangalore, leave stuff with them-- lots of hotels have --"locker rooms or some type of storage facility

Wouldn't do it...
If I would leave on travels, I would not entrust my laptop inside a luggage with anything less but a luxury hotel. But then, will they take it on storage? I doubt they will take it unless you stay with them.

I am having the same problem. I am arriving in Bangalore next week and would like to store 1 suitcase with laptop, some clothes, contacts, ... for about month. I was just wondering what you did?

With the recent bombings, the hotels may be reluctant to keep your luggage. I know railway stations have cloak rooms...but unsure how long you can keep and whether you need a ticket?!?!

At the moment I am thinking about leaving my luggage in the left luggage at the railway station(I have booked a ticket to Delhi so that won't be a problem) and renting a safe deposit box at a bank to store my laptop/return tickets/some cash/... So can someone confirm how long you can leave something at the railway station? And maybe recommend a bank with safe deposit boxes? I'll only be in Bangalore on Sat/Sun/Mon so have to find a bank on Monday before I leave.

I would not be sure of the bank safe deposit idea.
Indian banks (both nationalised and private)only rent out safe deposit boxes (called Lockers) to existing customers - and that too on annual contract basis. |
