Learning Hindi in Bangalore

I am going to Bangalore at the end of the summer to visit extended family. I want to learn Hindi while I am there. I want to learn Hindi for travel, but also because it is the political and business language in many cases.

I am only going to be there for a few weeks so I would like to do an intensive course. I have searched the web and there is no information I can find. I know Bangalore is an odd choice, but it would be good to be close to family.

Can anyone suggest a good tutor or institute?

Many thanks.

This is not private entity I think this is closely associated with govt, if I am not wrong, since the prachar sabha has been there since the british period, what the name literally means promote hindi in southern states of india, traditionally the dravidian languages are so different from aryan languges and not many people in south india speak hindi, so this was effort to spread hindi especially in the southern states, which are mainly dravidian.

Knowledge of Hindi would be useful in the Hindi belt of India. Rest all areas use non-Hindi languages (almost 70% of the country) and topped up with few words from English.

Amen ... the phonetics is really challenging, of course if there was an exposure to sanskrit it would have been easier .

calling me kiddo was totally uncalled for! it doesnt make you a grown up anyway
check census data and get back with your research. Till then, you can dream about 80% Hindians living in India.
