Is anyone going to this concert? Im trying to get tickets but they need an address in Bangalore to send tickets to. Is there anyone living in Bangalore that would let me have tickets sent to then collect before the show on Sat 17 march
Please help

I don't know about Iron Maiden, but Aerosmith is playing Mumbai the first of June.

If it is in the usual palace grounds venue then I doubt you need to get advance tickets.

Even for big gigs like Sting and Bryan Adams we were able to buy tickets in the morning of the show from Cafe Coffee Day.

I've never known a sell out in Bangalore for any of the concerts I have been to, to be honest I think they would just keep on selling them and cram everyone in somehow.

Bryan Adams, I was able to walk straight up to the stage without any probs!

Bryan Adams is God in Bangalore matey, and one of the only performers that comes back time and again.

Pink Floyd would sell out in Bangalore as would Deep Purple, probably Clapton. Iron Maiden? Doubtful IMHO!

I am not a number! I am a free man!

It is in the palace grounds.I am going to head on down to Chenni this week, before I get to Bangalore, as I have been told I can get tickets from there and that there are around 4000 tickets still available.
Thanks for the offers of places to send tickets, I may still take you up on them if I have trouble getting a train to Chenni in time.

This is turning out to be a strange journey. Two days ago we went to Kalimpong from Darjeeling to go to the Saturday market. Happened to have a room with a tv, which I havent seen in weeks, and whilst channel surfing happen to see an ad for Iron Maiden in Bangalore. Of course we had to go for a steak and a beer after that. Now I have changed my plans to try and get to Bangalore about 5 weeks earlier then I had planned.
The joy of not having a fixed plan and short holiday in India.

Also saw that Sepultura are playing in Mumbai and Bangalore 1 and 2 April. Will have to miss that one though.

Last chance to rock out for a night before I hit the yoga and mediation course in Kerala.

Only Joking Malkie, I'd love to attend a gig in India I've heard they're a great experience.

A mate seen Shakti a couple of years back said it was awsome!

It is indeed quite an experience to see a gig in India. Completely and hopelessly disorganised and chaotic, wondeful

Also saw Jethro Tull there and Blue but I only went to that because the girls wanted to go, honest

Im totally looking forward to it. Not only for it being completely unexpected but the fact is that I am taller then nearly everyone here so I will not have to look past anyones head (this is a standing venue I hope).

Standing? No way, on arrival you'll be shown to your grandstand, they'll sit you on a velvet seat and a waiter will ask you every ten minutes if you'd like red wine and cheese and biscuits!

Ok, it is standing, in mud, if it rains it is an even funnier experience and they don't allow umbrellas. If you want to take a camera, make it a thin one and stuff it down your pants as they are not allowed, they will say they'll keep it for you until the end and strangely the same people won't be there when you leave. Camera phones are allowed of course which sits in line with Indian authoritive logic!

Same goes for cigarettes, lighters etc so hide those in any orifice. Once you get in you can stand next to a cop smoking your head of and taking pictures and they won't say a word. Eat before you get there, you'll see why!

Graybola, it is hopeless to get advance notice of any gigs in Bangalore or anywhere else in India, it seems to be kept secret until a week or two before unless you check every single artists tour page on their website to see if they are going to India. The Bryan Adams gig was announced in the press just a week before it happened and yet it had been on his website for some time apparently.

DNA networks do most big western artists gigs in India now, you could check their website but the last time I looked it was advertising a motorcycle event that I had been to several months before!

Cheers
Malc
