General Cost.....

Hi everyone,

I will be arriving in Bangalore shortly and just wanted to get a rough idea on everyday prices.

I will be staying in Dollars Colony Bangalore and was wondering how much a bus ride is to town? If we say MG Road which is approx 20km? Does anyone have a rough idea on the bus cost?

Also is it possible to get a travel pass as such? I will be there for over 6 months but volunteering during the week so I would be using public transport on the weekends. In London we can get a monthly/weekly travel pass or just pay as you go. It doesn't actually save a lot to buy a monthly anyway.

Also if anyone can give me an idea on items such as.... (as an example only, please feel free to add more)

How much is a loaf of Bread?
Can of Coke?
Litre of Milk?

Sorry to be so picky but I am in India for a long time and need to watch the budget so any information is very useful!

Thank you all!

Roughly 15rs one way assuming its two buses (change inbetween). If you want to ride the AC buses, it would be higher.
- You have an option of daily pass for Rs 30 (for all except tohse AC Vajra buses)
- Monthly pass for approximately Rs 500 (again, all except AC Vajras)

Daily pass should suffice for your needs of weekend travel. You can always hop into an auto (mini taxi like) @ Rs 7 a km.
