Cheap Hotels in Ooty

Hello All,

I want to go to Ooty for 10 days and was wondering if anyone has some suggestions for a clean and cheap hotel. I would be coming from Bangalore, I've gotten a quote of 1,110.26 CAD for 10 nights, but was wondering if there was something much cheaper,

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Based on My Stay Experiences in Ooty:-

1) Reflections Guesthouse just on the way to Ooty lake. This is run by a foreign lady and almost 100% of occupants also Non-indians. I did stayed there once just for 2 days and I noticed except me , all others are Foreign Visitors having an extended stay from weeks to months !. Location is beautiful ,rooms are small . We stayed for 500 INR / Night but you could bargain as you are planning for 10 days ! "Hotel Section" in IM has reviews on this place and this is recommended if you would like to be with other Visitors from Across Globe !

2) Hotel Mayura Fernhill [ Karnataka Government owned propery] which is 2 kms from ooty lake and this is Fantastic in all fronts and Just this Property is situated in "Karnataka Horticulture park itself" with nice valley view and here when we stayed [ 6 months before] it's around 900 INR/ Night. With TV/ 24 Hours Hot water / Big Room / Room service and the views from this room itself wil be fantastic overlooking a place called "Fernhill". Calm Quiet and Nice -> This is highly recommended if you want nice views/ Calm , Serene place with very lesser number of rooms in the Sprawling campus !

3) Hotel TTDC [ Government of Tamilnadu property] just in Charring cross[Downtown of Ooty we may say] in a small hillock and this is also worth for money . TV / 24 Hours hot water and nice --> This can be reserved online . [Around 500 Rs / Night for Double bedroom in Non Apr/May/June months]

Hope this helps

Not sure on what are all included for 2000 Rs !!

My Suggestion is :-

If you are planning your Visit to ooty in any month in a year other than April / May/ June , you could just reach ooty, Roam around as majority of the lodges [ Right from Budget to Very high end] is just in 2 kms Radius from Charring Cross / Ooty Bus stand . You could have a look / try / Bargain and get a Room !.

There is NO real need to Book in Advance. There are many a hotels which will have very very less Occupants in those Off-season months and it's possible to bargain and also get the best room when you are in person there !

And I did not have any experience with High-End hotels [Anything costlier than 1200 Rs /Night] and so I may not be the right person to comment on that!

All the Best

Regards
Velu

Checkout Hotel Lakeview in Ooty. We stayed there three nights in March and while I can't recall the exact rate, I remember thinking we got a pretty good deal as it was off-season and the place was fairly empty.
