car and driver- regular hire

Hello,
My husband and I are moving to Bangalore in a couple of months and we won't be buying a car there. My husband's work provides transport for him to and from work but other than that we won't have a way of getting around. I have nothing against taxis and tuk tuks, but we have a young infant and I insist on using a carseat for safety reasons.
Does anyone know how much it would be to hire a regular car and driver, perhaps a few days a week? What companies provide this kind of service in Bangalore?

Typical car rental rates (frm what lil I know):
100kms/8 hours - 600-800rs (basic types)to 1200rs. - Roughly 6-8Rs. per KM for the basic types if you rent it for the day. It would goto 10Rs to 15Rs for bigger plusher cars. I would guess you may have to pay something to the driver too. I am not sure of that.

Taxis:
Autos (or tuktuks like you called :P) - 7rs/km I guess.
Call cabs - 15rs/km

Buses:
There are AC buses which go around to many places these days. They too could be an option if you are travelling regularly for shorter distances.
