Broadband providers?
Could anyone give me feedback on broadband ISP's in Banglaore? I have set up with Hathway for 6 months, but was wondering if anyone had recommendations for other providers. Speed is important, rather have cable, don't want to set up a phone in the house. Tata seemed rather expensive, I think twice what I am paying with Hathway.
Thanks! |

I have gained the impression over the past few years that there are only two suppliers who can be expected to mostly supply what you have ordered, maintain something like the advertised (dismal) speeds, and provide some sort of service when it goes wrong: BSLN and Airtel.
If you don't need the phone, don't plug one in!

Go with Airtel. They are, by far, the best of the lot.

Broadband
I cannot say about Bangaluru but I use BSNL broadband since 2005 and it is fast enough. I'm satisfied with its performance.I used to upload photos of big sizes and faced no problem.
Thanks. |

I can vouch for Sify as well. Have been using it for 4 odd years now. no major hassles.

Airtel all the way
While there are a lot of providers in Bangalore, I am of the opinion that Airtel is the best of the lot. BSNL is also another worthy contender but the pain of getting a connection from them negates any positives.
The providers that I know of (but have no experience with) are Sify (have had bad experience with them in another city), tata indicom (bad reviews from everyone), reliance (pretty new, the WIMAX connection should be looked at).

Dont even think about Sify, that too in Bangalore. They suck. Their service is a nightmare. Take my words. Check in net for sify customer experiences.
I will recommend BSNL as many of my friends who use it are very much satisfied. Airtel is also good. But it is not available in all the areas. When it comes to speed and value for money, it is none other than BSNL. And they give you 1:1 ratio, which airtel doesnt. And forget about Tata Indicom. |
