Bangalore-Mysore-Bangalore

Hi...we are arriving in Bangalore 0n 7th March around 10am....leaving on 11th 14.00....
we are looking at getting to Mysore and then if possible visit Belur and Halebid....can we squeeze in Abbey falls as well!?
I have looked at accomm in Mysore and it looks reasonable priced...is it easy to get around on the buses....would we benefit from a driver for the day....I visited Hampi some years ago and along with a friend we did just that but not sure of prices now....we are on a medium budget ....also need advice on timescale it will take to cram in all this sightseeing!
I have also looked at homestay in Alath Cad Estate....
is it possible to do 2nts Mysore and 2nts Coorg and fit all the sightseeing in!?

Hey Cally,

It's seems like you can fit all these things into your schedule. Well you can do most of the sightseeing in mysore in a days time if you start your day early. I suggest you take a taxi for the day. You should be able to get some good deals at a reasonable price. There are some coach tours with a larger group of people and they work out to be really cheap aswell and they are not bad at all. With regard to Belur, Hallebid, it's shouldn't be very difficult to get there from Mysore. You can head towards Hassan and get to Hallebid quiet easily from there. You can return to Coorg via Sakleahpur which is quiet a beautiful journey on its own. Abbey falls is not very far from where you will be staying in coorg and can be visited during the early half of the day along with other places of interest in coorg.

You can also go to coorg after your stay in Mysore and then visit Halebeedu and return to Bangalore via Haasan. This seems like a much better plan because you will be spending lesser time travelling.

Hope my info helps.

Hey Cally,

I just replied to your other post without reading this. I suggest you visit a few spots in Bangalore like the Palace, Lalbagh and ISKON temple (in that order aswell ) and then maybe head out for a drink to some of the famous pubs in Bangalore that night. You could leave to Mysore early the next day and visit all the sights in a days time (there are coach tours from Bangalore which start at 5AM and cost about 600 RS for a round trip, but you could just stay back in Mysore). You can spend the night in Mysore and head to coorg the next morning and visit the Golden Temple, Abbey falls and a few other places enroute to the estate you plan on staying in. You can get to Hallebedu via Sakleshpur the next day and either return the same night to Bangalore or the next day but I'm not sure about accommodation near Hallebedu. If you chose to return the same night you should have ample time to see a little more in Bangalore before you head back home.

Hope my info helps.

Cheers.
