Bangalore: Best Non-Indian food in town?

Which place serves the best cuisine? We're thinking of having a small company dinner (just 3 of us), and definitely want to have something non-Indian (don't get me wrong, we love Indian food!).

My colleague suggested Sheraton Windsor's dinner buffet, but it's always good to keep our options open Cuisine-wise, we'd love anything Western/European.

Thanks!

I have been to a restaurant called "The Only Place" or something like that - they have outdoor seating, if I recall, no alcohol license though - that was over 2 years ago - I took a couple of bottles of Beer in a brown bag and they served it in Coke cups!

They have all kinds of steaks and pasta - some people rave about the steaks.

Cheers

Oh thanks! I think i've been to The Only Place. Their steaks are simply mouth-watering! And the warm chocolate cake topped with cold ice-cream, simply to die for!
Actually because this is a company dinner, we have quite a generous budget of Rs1700/pax, so hoping to go somewhere fancy

If you can source a member to get signed in - you should be able to scare up a few cucumber sandwiches, etc. at the Bangalore Club.

100 Foot Road Boutique/Restaurant

Our favorite Continental restaurant in Bangalore is the 100 Foot Road Boutique/Restaurant located at
#777/I
100 Feet Road, Indira Nagar
H.A.L. II Stage
Bangalore - 560008
Landmark: Opposite New Horizon School
Phone: 080-25277752.

You can also find reviews at http://www.mouthshut.com/product-rev...925039376.html.

We have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a nice experience. The menu is quite nice with a good selection for veg and non-veg alike and there are also plenty of choices for cocktails if you have the inclination. I hope that this helps.

Cheers!

The Lamb Shank and the Grouper are good at Via Milano (next to Sony World, Koramangala). The Panna Cotta and Semifreddo are to die for!

If the budget permits, Giancarlo at Lavelle Road (above Coffee Day) is excellent. Best lasagna so far in Bangalore! Ditto the tiramisu.

Both places have above par decor, if that is a consideration.

Tip
Avoid the antipasta: go for the parmesan pizza: scrumptious! Fired in a woodburner!!

Very nice indeed! Giancarlos' is just 5 mins walk from my office.
Pass by it everyday but doesn't seem like it's open or something.
But since you've been there already, I'll check it out!

a small unpretentious place i discovered during my last visit turned out to be quite a find! salads with fantastic fresh ingredients (REAL fresh mozzarella made/supplied by a priest from kerala who spent time in rome, for example), european modern cuisine and all at very reasonable prices!

herbs & spice (was told they have a branch in whitefield but didn't go there). 25290399 for reservations (#221, ground floor, 7th cross, 1st stage, indiranagar, b'lore - 560038).

I eat quite frequently at Herbs and Spice in Indira Nagar. The food is excellent and very affordable. A typical meal for 2 would cost less than 600-700 rupees. You may need directions to get there since it is somewhat hard to find.

Herbs and Spices (with an 's' at the end)in Whitefield, I believe is an entirely unrelated establishment.

I have eaten a few times at "Graze" located at the Taj Residency. The food and the service are excellent. Main courses run about 400-500 rupees as I recall.

since i have their card here, their whitefield branch is at:

herbs & spice (same name as the one in indiranagar)
#6, whitefield main road, siddapura, bangalore - 560066
(phone: 65321111)

not sure but the one in whitefield may be just a bakery. the owner is manjit singh.

Olive Beach

Olive Beach is a great place with excellent food and good ambiance.

Olive Beach
16 Wood Street
Ashok Nagar,
Bangalore
Tel. 4112 8400

To clear up the Herbs and Spice confusion: the owners of the Indiranagar branch have opened a new deli-type place recently in Whitefield. There is another very good restaurant in Whitefield with a very similar name: Herbs and Spices!
