Anyone for tennis?

I'm moving to Bangalore on 1 September and want to join a decent tennis club.

The big fancy one in the park with the stadium is probably a bit out of my budget – I asked and I think a year's membership was equivalent of about British £1000.

Can anyone recommend a friendly club with reasonable fees. Somewhere not just to play on a pre-booked court, but somewhere with club nights so you can mix in for doubles games etc

hey Martin, Did you find a place to play tennis, I was also looking for a place but every place I found was around Rs60k per year. Now I have started playing at the Nike Tennis village with a coach which is again not that cheap 500 bucks for an hour. But if i play with a partner it is less. Let me know if you wanna join.

there are quite a few places to play tennis these days. there is a club in R.T.Nagar, bangalore, called patels inn. i think its pretty cheap compared to others. but the infrastructure is mediocre. there r a few more like those.

I am quite ok on hard courts and have got a not so bad serve. was playing actively till about 7 mths back until my partner moved out of the city. If you are interested we can touch base. Any luck with finding a tennis partner? I live in Indiranagar and looking to start playing tennis again. Even if you are not looking for a partner anymore, I'd still like to touch base with you for some info regarding sports/tennis clubs (as you mentioned you used to play before).

How's it going in the tennis village? I might be interested in joining actually, depending on how far it is from Cox Town. I've let my tennis slip: my topspin backhand is looking pretty wild, and not in a good way.

I'm in UK now, coming back in a few weeks.
