Exclamation Accommodation and Around Bangalore

Hi everyone,
I come from Thailand and this is first time in India.
I will attend conference in Bangalore from 18-21 Jan. 2010.
Conference will held at JN Tata Auditorium.
I would like to find the near by accommodation. I am female student so would like some place that cheap, safe and clean.
Any suggestion for guesthouse ?
I found Royal recidency lodge from website, is it o.k here?

During conference I will have free time, any suggestion for travel and sight seeing around?
I would love to visit hampi, badami and Patadakal but I have extra 2-3 day that I can stay over after conference.

Can anyone suggest how to travel to Hampi, I read from some thread about Hampi express then how I travel to badami and Patadakal and back to bangalore?

Many thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Places near the auditorium would be Yeshwanthpur, Tumkur Road, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar etc, Even Majestic (Center or Bangalore) would be OK.

As you are travelling single I would be ideal to take a Bus to Hampi or a Train.
Bus: Book at ksrtc.in, While the Airavath (A/C Volvo ) may not be available for Hampi (Direct) you would get the Rajahamsa (Non-AC , Lux busses)
Train: You would need to get down in Hospet (Nearest railway station, 15 kms from Hampi) Book at irtctc.co.in - this would be a more comfortable option. But do book in advance (60-90 Days)

If you haven't visited yet, Do go to http://wikitravel.org/en/Hampi

Hi siddhatha,
Many of the visiting professors stay at aishwarya regency in mathikere close by to the college and they charge around 600/= per night.
The royal lodge is in gandinagar, a busy commercial area of bangalore and little far away from the institute.
I advice you to take a package trip from karnataka state tourism develpment corporation http://kstdc.net/Tours.htm.
For more information please post.
