i will be reaching Bangalore this monday (21 april 08), and will be there for a minimum of 3 weeks.
Weekdays will be OK, as I will be working, but was wondering what to do on weekends? Just wanted to know about the places to see around Bangalore, or any activities, like trekking. Any trekking groups from Bangalore?

I should really be asking these guys for a commission, but anyway as my usual blurb goes, I've never used them but I hear they're good: http://www.outlooktraveller.com/bookdetail.aspx?id=13

Would recommend going to Jungle Retreat (about 6 hours' drive)--good for a long weekend, as May 1 is a public holiday.

You could do a days outing from Mysore to Bylakuppe - the Tibetan settlement, (but you can't stay over without a RAP permit, which can take a long time to obtain).
Mysore itself is a lovely location to visit (and the nature reserves nearby). Cheers Zoltan
