3 day/ 2 night trip out of Bangalore?
Hello! We're quickly visiting Bangalore for the first time ever to attend a cousin's wedding in the latter 1/2 of August. Looking to escape the city for 3 days/ 2 nights afterwards.
Would you kindly IMers have any advice for a family that is looking for a low-key, family-oriented lodge/ B&B/ resort; a pretty, natural setting; a place that will make my curious almost six year old child smile a lot? I've looked into the five star resorts in the area and they're a backup plan, but we'd prefer something a little less corporate and smaller in scale. Mysore is a place we'd like to go when daughter is older - not this trip. Right now, she likes animals, parks, water in any form, and outdoor play . . . Your advice appreciated! GM |

There is a great little resort about 30k north of Bangalore on the Bellary road past Yelahanka and somewhere near the big ITC (India Tobacco) factory. I'm sure it is called Club Cabana but may be spelled different. It has water slides, a wave pool, lazy river and ten pin bowling, good food there too and I think they even had a ladies spa but it was 18 months ago I was there and I could have mixed that bit with another place. Across the road though and part of the same resort there is a games room and a big ordinary swiming pool set in lush gardens with monkeys jumping around everywhere. Can't remember if you could stay here but there are loads of places nearby as this is not far from the new airport. Ah, just found it listed on this site http://www.discoverbangalore.com/club.htm .
Have fun Malc

Thanks everyone for your replies! I like many of the ideas posted and will look into them. The Orange County Resort is beautiful but a little expensive for what I was hoping to spend . . .
Cheers, GM |
