Guwahati - Shillong - Cherapunji

Planning to visit Guwahati - Kamakhya temple and cruise on Brahmaputra river, will then move to Shillong - will stay there for two-three nights and will cover both Cherapunji and adjoining places with the live root bridge. Can anybody can detail me the plan. I am planning the trip during Puja Holidays in October'12.

Here is a suggestive Itenary for Shillong/Cherrapunjee

Day 1- In Guwahati

Day 2- Guwahati

Day 3- Start early by 7am from Guwahati for Cherrapunjee-Halt at Cherra Holiday Resort. Complete whatever Local SIghtseeing Possible till 6pm.

Day 4- Ask Cherra Holiday Resort to arrange a guide to take you to trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Leave in the morning after breakfast say 7 . Come back by 2pm and have lunch and relax.
After lunch simply relax.

Then in the evening as the resort to organize an outdoor bon-fire and some local and cultural programs. Halt


Day 5-Check Out .Ask Cherra Holiday Resort to arrange a cab to Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village. Start early in the morning after breakfast at 9. First Spend 2 hours doing local sightseeing, if any remaining. Start for Mawlynnong at 11am. Reach there by 2pm. Ask the villagers to guide you around the village. Roam around the village. Have lunch in one of the village houses. See the Single Decker Living Root Bridge near the village. Transfer to Shillong by 5pm. Reach by 8pm. Have Dinner. Halt

Day 6 -Do Local Sightseeing. Evening do some shopping in Police Bazaar. Halt

Day 7- Leave for Airport.
