Hello Naushad,

That reads like a Travel Agent's plan!

You are replying to a query that dates from last year. Ananya has already visited Arunachal Pradesh and has written a fantastic trip report all about it.

Yes, this came rom a travel agent.

The thing is we are a group of 7 to 8 foreigners and Indians wanting to visit Arunachal in mid Dec. and it is quite difficult to get a good route idea. We are looking for more of National Parks, tribla villages/areas and great locations to stay.

Could you please suggest as to who could help with this.

Naushad.

The wild places are where we began.
When they end, so do we.

Yes, actually, I can recommend the guys with whom we travelled in Arunachal Pradesh in March/April of this year, 2009. They are Ren Tours and Treks in New Delhi. Contact Mr Basant GIRI on the following telephone number: 91 11 46.05.22.21 or on mobile phone 91 98103.52728

If you send me a PM I can give you more information.

Hi Antrek !

It is my first time in IndiaMike.com. I have visited Bomdila, Dirang and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh 4 times till now.Your itinerary seems excellent to me. I would suggest you add Bomdila, Dirang and Tawang Day 3 onwards. It will take extra 3-4 days. Bomdila onwards you will experience extreme cold weather and heavy snowfall in December. You will be at 13700 feet above sea level at Sela Pass and almost the same height beyond Tawang. I am sure it will be a memorable trip.

You can stay at the following Hotels. You may get off season discounts in December.
Bomdila- Hotel Shipyangpong, Hotel Shangrila, Tourist Lodge.
Dirang - Hotel Pemaling, Tourist Lodge
Tawang - Tawang Inn, Tourist Lodge, Hotel Alpine.

For details you can visit the Arunachal Pradesh Tourism website:
www.arunachaltourism.com.

Thanks.
Bikash Kataky.

We propose to take a tour of Tawang in May 2010 from the 16th to 23rd.
Will fly to Guwahati on 16th.Start for Bhalukpong the same day and halt there at night.
Next we travel to Dirang and spend the night there.
Next day we proceed to Tawang. Three nights stay here.
Return back to Guwahati with a stopover at Bomdila.
Can any one clarify the following:
1) A road map from Guwahati to Tawang indicating the distances so that the timings can be fixed.
2) The sight seeing places in & around Tawang.
3) How far is China border from the distrct town of Tawang.
4) Can we visit the border?
5) Good eating joints in Tawang?

Thanks in anticipation

We're planning to visit Arunachal next on our north-east india trip (www.hitchhikingindia.com) and are wondering if anyone here would like to travel with us/share rides/meetup in Arunachal. We are in Guwahati right now and will start for Tawang in the next couple of days (can apply for the permit only tomorrow as the office is closed today). We will be breaking our journey at Bhalukpong, Bomdilla, Tenga valley and Dhirang before going to Tawang.
BTW, we're on a hitchhiking trip, so if we can't get a ride we usually take the cheapest possible transport.

Arunachal Pradesh

All and most of the helocopter rides have beed discontinued in AP as they have lost their last CM in a chopper accident some 8 to 9 months ago. I was in Tawang in March and no helicopter services were availble.
