First snowfall of 2010 at Tawang

Well, the good news is that Tawang has received its first snowfall this season on 9th. December. I flew over the region yesterday for an Army project and the entire Tawang town was covered with Snow. The temperature felt like it was -6 degrees but our chopper reflected -3 degrees on the panel. The snow at Tawang is said to be around 6 inches. While at Sela its said to be around 1-2 feet. The BRO are on a vigil to avoid any blockade on the essential Bomdila-Tawang road owing to the prediction of heavy snowfall in coming days. The view of tawang yesterday cannot be described in words. Unfortunately I had no camera with me as I never expected so much snow

@style_guru, great news Tawang has received first snow, courtsey the low pressure that originated in Bay of Bengal and moved towards north east rather than taking its usual north west route. It brought enough moisture to gift the first snow of session. But weather prediction doesn't suggest any further snow fall atleast for next one week until a fresh low pressure or western disturbance hits the region.

From your description, I am really missing the snaps, anyway impatiently waiting for my trip to Tawang in 3rd week of this month, hope Sela would be open and we would be able to reach this great place.
