| Thought of adding the routes / Road information for future Visitors to Kutta 1. Always [ Between 6 pm to 6 am] the road is closed between Nagarahole NP to Kutta if we try to do it Via the Nagarahole NP itself. 2.There is another road which runs from HD Kote to Kutta Via Karapura / Bavali / Katrikulam which runs for around 25 kms within the Nagarhole forest [Southern Fringes of the Nagarahole NP] and it's SH-17 connecting Mysore & Wayanad . This road is Closed Between 6 pm - 6 am after a decision has been taken around 3 Months back ! --> This is the one which Manoj referred in his post ! 3. For those of you who would like to go to Kutta from Karnatka end, You could do the same by taking Mysore- Hunsur - Anehosur-Gonikoppal route and Kutta is around 30 kms from Gonikoppal ! --> This road is 24 * 7 Open with Anehosur is in the Northern fringes of Nagarhole NP and that stretch will be Foresty / Scenic ! 4. From ooty , You could take Gudalur-Kalpetta-Mananthavadi-Katrikulam-Tholpetty WLS to reach Kutta 5. From Wayanad / Kozhikode ,You could take Kalpetta-Mananthavady-Katrikulam-Tholpetty WLS to reach Kutta 6. From Kannur , shortest route is Kannur - Iritty- Virajpet-Gonikoppal-Kutta [ Iritty - Virajpet stretch is very very pathetic] and if you like a good road [ Kannur - Kuthuparamba-Mananthavady-Katrikulam-Tholpetty WLS-Kutta] Photo of the road which is closed recently between 6 pm to 6 am below :-- [Even in Day time ,it's very difficult to take that route as the road condition is same for around 25 kms .. ] |

| It's an excellent article - I'm not seeing a date for it though. Is it up-to-date? (It's poss. there is a date somewhere, but since at the moment my broadband is down and I'm on GPRS having turned off some of the internet options, I could be missing it.)

| Thanks It was such a delightful experience to go on and on reading the article. Especially knowing what every word meant after having experienced the beauty of kodagu it was a wonderful journey thru the article. Kutta was indeed an eye opener and just at the time when i was looking for a destination in the month of Aug. its a weeks break, so i am planning short visits to madikeri and surrounding places then gonikoppal and then to kutta for a couple of days. Thank you for the clarity and brevity..looking forward for our visit. |

| I enjoyed reading that, along with the useful additional details by PM Velu. We did a short trip to Coorg in June but did not particularly like Madikeri. Where you went sounds very nice, and if we go to Coorg again, I would like to go to Kutta.

| Member | Enjoyed reading the article "Bangalore to Kutta". I was looking for exactly such an article as I am visiting Kutta this Sunday for a 3 day trip. I know this is not the recommended season but keeping my fingers crossed that the trip will turn out to be good. |

| Me too I too enjoyed your well written experience. I did the similar road trip a month ago. I enjoyed the plantations, my first ever in that area. We also stopped at a road side shop and had the local black tea. That was out of this world. Thanks for posting it. I wish I could write as well. ![]()
