the zilla parishad shack is a filthy hell-hole, where we were holed up for two nights and a day from the rain - at least it's dry. bedding? hahahahaha. you're going to roopkund. not the clifftop auli :-)
Ronsaik: I think, I caught you and your wife in my picture taken at Bedni Bugyal at 6:32PM on 19-Jun-08!? You guys were *prancing* down a Bedni Bugyal slope

Yes, that Tea shop is there and operational (right next to the drinking water stream). You can get Tea and misc stuff, like biscuits, Maggie noodles etc. Probably they serve basic food too? - KS

No wait... this pic was taken on the 19th. On the 19th, we set out for Pathar Nachaunia in the morning and remained tentbound all day due to the rain. At 1830 hrs, we were in the other Bugyal - the one below Pathar (and in my opinion, the prettiest of them all). So if this pic was taken in Bedni, that couldn't be us :-(
It could have been the Ukranian girl with her guide, returning after their first Roopkund sortie.

Also, about the Dhabawallah...okay, now I get it...there's somekind of a shack just after the trail from Wan emerges onto Bedni. While coming up, we took the Didana-Ali-Bedni route, so didn't see it. While going back, we took the Wan route, and yes - there was this shack some 30 metres from where a family of griffons was sunning itself.

Hmmmm .... Rechecked the date-time stamp on that picture; it is 19-Jun-08 6:32PM. So maybe someone else? or the Ukranian Girl (then prancing too, fits)

Thanks KS, Rajeev Bora, uttam, somnath biswas and shahronakm for appreciation of the Part-1 of the Trek Report. I hope to post Part-2 by tomorrow evening.

On the basis of the synopsis of the Trek Report prepared by me, probably, it may run in to 4 parts plus Fact Sheets which I propose to give at the end of the Report.

Sadanand
