Where can I find these items in Hyderabad?
Greetings...
I debated long and hard about posting this question here...but I'm getting pretty desperate. After searching this city for the past 5 weeks, I just can't seem to track some of these things down. I've been to Big Bazaar, Q-Mart, Trinetra, LifeStyle, HomeAfair, Hyderabad Central, City Center and a few other places.... If any locals can help me out...much appreciated. VP.

General goods stores. I located one in Channel Six, the monthly mag. I was looking for a non-slip bath mat for my mother in law. Took an incredible effort. I can, however, believe that your apartment came without a toilet paper holder..

- A Sanitary Fittings Shop - A shop selling plastics and kitchenware First two and last, try upmarket bathroom fittings places.. you know the kinds that sell washbasins, taps etc etc.. there is Splash in Khairatabad and a couple of places around Ameerpet/Srinagar colony. You may not get telescopic shower rods too easily; it will be easier to get them cut to size. (No, they do not need to be threaded). In Ameerpet, near the crossroads, there are a lot of small 'Plumbing and sanitary ware' shops. Parking is a pain, though. Dish Dryer: Try a big shop selling plastics.. Plastic world at Ameerpet, or even a smaller shop in your neighbourhood, who can easily get it for you. For all these things, RP Road or MG Road in Secunderabad are options.. lots of small/big shops. I am afraid big departmental stores may/may not carry these things.. margins are probably not high enough. If you know a local plumber, ask him for shops close to your area... the shower caddy may be a little more difficult to find, but is quite easily available. |

One last post..
Just in case anyone in HYD read this thread and had a similar query...I was able to find all of my remaining items at a store in Malakpet called Housefull. It's probably the closest thing to a Walmart/Target I've seen yet in Hyderabad. I've not no affiliation...just passing on the news in case it can help someone else out.
