Weather in Andhra Pradesh at the end of October?

What is the weather normally like in Andhra Pradesh area, near Kurnool towards the end of October. I've heard the monsoon is not bad there but will it be rainy most days? Or not? Will be carrying photography equipment.

If it rains because you are visiting, that would be great! Kurnool is hot and even if it rains, does not matter.

October is Monsoon time in Tamil Nadu & AP but the heavy rains, if at all they happen, are mostly limited to Coastal areas. Kurnool is away from the coast and is part of a region of Andhra Pradesh called "Rayalaseema". As SDS indicates :-), Kurnool is not very rain prone but very hot, dusty and dry. A member of family is from Kurnool and I heard her joke that Kurnool is popular for 3Ds - Dust, Doctors & Donkeys :-)

I am sorta suprised, pleasantly I must admit, about the fact that someone wants to visit Kurnool and surroundings for photography. Have fun.

I'll recommend Ahobilam in that area. The foothill is great, even if you are not religious, very cheap accommodation, food and much better weather.

Nice treks/hikes too!

Yes it's only beginning of October, but there seems to be a flood situation in Kurnool:

25,000 people trapped in floods in AP
STAFF WRITER 19:50 HRS IST

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (PTI) Army and airforce helicopters were today pressed into service to rescue 25,000 people who were marooned in the worst ever floods that hit Kurnool town of Andhra Pradesh following heavy rains and release of water from over-flowing dams.

Chief Minister K Rosaiah said boats are also being requisitioned to rescue the trapped people.

Kurnool is now inundated with four feet of water even as the level is expected to rise by another four feet by midnight and yet another four feet by tomorrow afternoon, he announced.

Mantralayam in the district, home to the renowned Raghavendra Swamy mutt, was submerged ..... http://www.ptinews.com/news/311350_2...n-floods-in-AP

Please check news sites such as ibnlive.com to affirm the situation. Trains in guntakal division which is not very far from kurnool have been forced to be either cancelled or diverted due to torrential downpour. Hopefully the weather clears up by the late october.

One lakh people have been evacuated from the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and are being sent to rescue camps. On Friday night, the River Krishna's levels are expected to hit a 100-year high.

The floods in areas along the Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka are so serious that the army, air force, and navy are all involved in rescue operations. Most-affected are the Kurnool district in Western Andhra Pradesh, and Bijapur, Belgaum, Bellary in Northern Karnataka.

Thank you for the information about Kurnool. I have been in contact with my friend about Kurnool. Transportation is going to be hard there. I will be there in late October so hopefully the situation might be better. I have heard it's not good there at all right now and many people have lost the homes, and their lives.

kurnool district is the worst affected area in the state now, the water is level is still alarmingly high, the whole town is submerged in water, there will be few disease outbreaks in the coming weeks especially in kurnool, be careful as the whole scenario has changed,
