Vizag + Tyda - Budget Accommodation - Transport

I am planning to travel Vizag-Araku in coming December. Can you please provide me some information about Tyda? Like, 1) can we reach Tyda with Tata Sumo (we will have kids with us - hence won't be able to trek), make a night stay there, go to Araku + Borra Caves + Ananthagiri next day and coming back to Vizag? 2) Is there any other accommodation available to stay in Araku apart from AP Tourism hotels (Mayuri)? AP Tourism hotels are already booked. 3) Moderate range hotel name & phone numbers to stay in Vizag / Rushikonda.
It would be great if you could provide these information ASAP.

Last february we were in Vizag and stayed in hotel Prince. They charged 670 rs for a reasonable 2-persons room. It is situated in Ranga street, phone 2747675

By all means Kouchat. The camp is conveniently close to the road that takes you from Vizag to Araku. In fact, Tyda also has a railway station.

Araku is an agency area...a sort of protected area to prevent exploitation of locals. So private estates are disallowed. But there is a hotel named Rajadhani that existed before this law came into effect. Dunno if it is still around. If I were doing this trip..I would rather stay at the APTDC hotels. They are slightly costly but the rooms are quite good. I believe they have more than one in Araku. Also I sugest you stay at Tyda itself. I see no point in staying at Araku again. You can do all the area around in a day and half.

Rushikonda has no private hotels. Some resorts probably. You need not look for a stay at Rushikonda unless you need a resort like expereince. Contact APTDC for their resorts. they have one up a hill overlooking the sea. Quite a view.

kouchat, i'm curious how your trip to tyda/araku ended up?

did you rent your own car to travel to tyda and araku? how did you do this?

i really want to rent a car (without driver!) in vizag and make my own way to tyda, so any information you have ASAP will be really helpful.
