Vizag-Araku Itinerary

Hi,
I am visiting Vizag-Araku in the coming week and so I need some information/suggestion regarding my below itinerary,

Day1 : Reach Vizag at 04:00 A.M by Coromondal Express. Spent the morning in R.K beach and start for hotel (Rushikonda) for check-in. After taking some rest to get refreshed, start for Kailash Giri. After visiting Kailash Giri, take lunch and start for Bheemli. Return back to Rushikonda hotel in the late evening and night stay.
==>> I guess the transport from Station to R.K Beach wouldn't be a problem in the morning.

Day2 : Start early morning to catch Kirandul Express for Araku. Reach araku and sightseeing whole day and return to Tyda Jungle resort for night stay.
==>> What kind of transport I can get for local sightseeing in Araku and coming back to Tyda ?

Day3 : After breakfast start for Borra Cave and Ketki falls, lunch at Borra Cave and catch Kirandul Express from Borra Cave station to return to Vizag and night stay at Rushikonda.
==>> What transport options are available from Tyda to Borra Cave-Ketki Falls ?

Day4 : Start in the morning for Vizag local sight seeing like Shimachalam, Dolphin's nose, Port, Yarada Beach, Gangavaram Beach etc. I have time till late evening as I have return train at 23:25 PM from vizag to Howrah.
==>> Can you suggest any other place to visit in Vizag ?

You can visit Araku and the Borra caves with a tour from the APTDC, see here

We once did the one day trip. With the train to Araku and then with a bus through the valley. Including visits to a garden, tribal museum and tribal dance. The way back is by bus en route a visit to the caves.

Thanks for the response, but, I don't want to take any package tour, I always try to explore places by myself.

Hi biswajit,

Vonkla has said rightly that APTDC offers a nice package for one day trip to Araku.. it's different to any other package tours.... I myself also in dislike of going under package tours... but enjoyed this one... it has both rail route and road view - both are awesome.

well decision is yours

1. No problem, local cars are set with the train timing.
2 & 3. There are cars available for your trips in Araku. you can contact Tyda too.
4. Submarine is must. Vuda park, light house may be added. I loved Yarda beach.

First comes Kailash Giri, then Rushikonda, then Bhimili. So visit Bhimili first, go to Kailash in the afternoon. The evening view should be fascinating. There is one Buddhist site on Rushikonda - Bhimili road - either Bavikonda or Thotlakonda.

The zoo can be added. Visit Dolphin's nose in the afternoon as that's when people are allowed to go inside the lighthouse - something that's amazing.

I stayed at Jungle Bells about 3 years ago. Pretty good accommodation in a nice setting. The food was very plain.
We had a car and driver.

I stayed there in August, 2012. The resort was a descent one with serenity. Though I spotted one giant lizard inside the room, I thing this is normal inside a jungle resort.

I returned to Vizag by Kirandul express after sightseeing at Borrah, But I will not recommend the train to return to Vizag as it usually delays by some hours and reaches Vizag late night. Better to catch Bus/Cab from Tyda/Borrah.
