Hey Hyderabad IMers!
I'll be visiting Hyderabad June 1st to 15th on a business trip from Seattle, and I'd love to hook up with cool people while I'm there, to hang out in fun places, make a deeper connection with the city and citizen, maybe share a dinner, a drink, a chillum or a good conversation.Who's game? If you guys are all busy, any recommendations on good places to hang out or visit? - Cyril. ![]() |

Char minar is fantastic for sensory overload. Hanging out there is quite the experience! You get lots of bangles and hookahs here.
If you want something more familiar, check out Hyderabad Central. A huge mall. Pizza hut and baskin robbins is there, along with Bombay Blues, a nice multi-cuisine restaurant and bar. Kamat hotel comes highly recommended for dosas, I believe. Walking around Abids strret is great for shopping; jewellery and textiles in particular. |

The places you can check out in Hyderabad are Golconda Fort, Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, Mecca Masjid, Birla Mandir, etc
A few places that serve good food are: Nanking (Chinese/Indian Chinese), Paradise, Mohini (Biryani) You should also go to Chutneys. Good Dosas. Check out the steam Dosas. If you are interested in architecture, then other than the places I mentioned above you should also see the Assemble building and the High Court. For mordern architecture visit the Hitec City area. Hanging out on Necklace road in the evenings will be good and you should be able to meet a lot of locals. If you are not interested in Indian food then there is a KFC, plenty of Pizza Huts, Dominos and Subways. Anyway if you let me know what you are interested in it will help. Wow! This is my longets post on this forum ever, and I am not even sure if this will helpp you!!! |

Pick up a copy of WOW Hyderabad! magazine when you land here. It should equip you with the information you need for much of your trip.
Let us know once you land here. Maybe we can set up a meetup. Not sure though if you want to meet other IT guys though! |

How to recognize cyrilb? Well, you have my picture here
![]() Though I must say I have slightly shorter hair these days. ![]() Anyway I seem to not get noticed for my distinct look around here, so it shouldn't be too hard for you guys to spot me around ![]() Sorry all for missing the meet-up at Yatri Nivas yesterday night. We visited town all day (Golconda Fort, Charminar...) and I couldn't get out and to my emails before late, and then I was in Taj Krishna, apparently a bit far from Yatri Nivas (?). I hope I get to catch up with you later on. What else do you guys recommend checking-out in the area? - Cyril. ![]() |
