Search this forum. There were some earlier threads on the sightseeing options in Vizag.
The things I saw in Vizag(was there on a college excursion trip long, long ago) - 1. simachalam temple 2. botanical garden(nice but nothing special) 3. zoo(not recommended) 3. rishikonda beach(very very nice after a long dusty day of sigh seeing) 4. kailashgiri - very nice - the kids will like the views you can make a day trip to araku valley and bora caves. we had taken the cheapest option available(1 day package of AP tourism) - train to araku(the route is very beautiful)-lunch and tribal dance performance -bus to bora caves - bus back to vizag. Frankly - I liked the journey better than the two destinations. |

Yarada Beach, just south of Dolphin's Nose is beautiful and clean and uncrowded. You need a car or taxi to get there. But for kids, Rushikonda may be more lively.
The zoo is remarkably uncontaminated with animals. The trip to Araku is well worth it. And in the evening a walk along the seafront with stops at the food stalls is fun. |

I'm not much of a shopper, but I did see a few malls and a Big Bazaar. There's a shopping district on the road towards the airport.

Tyda jungle bells - an eco-tourism destination of AP tourism - is worth a visit. better if you could spend a night there.
