Hi Meena,

You could get the laddupadi Ticket from Vijaya bank counter which is near "Free Darshan Entrance" (All Seva tickets will be sold there). As you might be aware it will be very very crowded and Vijaya bank counter opens at approximately at 7 am BUT people will just queue up around 12 Midnight itself. (I personally experienced this with my wife, Kid and Aged parents waited from 1 am and We are successful to get the seva ticket and another rule is for ex. 10 people admissible in a Seva ticket , All the 10 need to come and stand and undergo the pain as they need Finger prints of all ) and if you go late, the counters will be closed once the quota for the day is over. Just try out in TTD Office in Venkatnaraya road , T.Nagar to know the availability status.

If you would like to stay in tirumala Hills itself , you need to approach the Accomodation counter (Just opposite to where the Tirumala bound buses drop you) and it's based on the availability only. All Rooms in tirumala Hills is centrally managed at one place(Accomadation counter only).

And Tirupathi has many a Lodges but I do not have any suggestion on the same as we stayed always in Tirumala Hills only.
If you are not aware you could reserve online (Atleast accomodation /Sevas) but you won't find any for May month. And Internet quota is Very less when compared to the actual availability and do not worry about that.( www.ttdsevaonline.com)

Hope this helps.

It's absolutely safe.. If you are a group then it's well and good (Walking Solo for around 9.5 kms is definitely a boring task). Majority of people will start the walk by late evening which will be pleasant.
I trekked from Alippiri (Adivaram in Telugu) to tirumala Hills 2 times till now and it's going to be tough to very tough (If you are not accostomed to Steep walk). Please Carry Water/ Lime /Glucose and there are multiple Petty shops on the way and you could try out Lemon soda which will give the strength.
In Alippiri, you can deposit all your belongings to Temple Staff and the TTD Van will carry luggages to the top and we can collect it at the top (And this Service is Free of Charge)

Hope this helps

Regarding climbing the Tirumala hill:
Please take care of the weather. It is very hot right now (42 C). If the same conditions prevail, I suggest you start walking early morning 3:00 AM or so that you will not have much strain.

Regarding carrying water, if you are not used to carrying things, when climbing, please avoid.

Golden rule: Keep your hands free.

You will get plenty of water enroute and the toughest part comes at the last 400 setps of the first hill only.

My experience says take long breaks after covering long distances.

Meena, first of all be clear what you are trying to do in Tirumala. Otherwise things will go crazy and mess up very easily. MAY is the peak time in Summer as well as for the crowd in Tirumala. So keep yourself cool as much as you can. If you are visiting along with a big family for god sake please watch out, I still imagine myself being through and faced so many problems in the same season. Anyways good luck with it. Like I said, keep yourself out of Summer stroke, and Crowd suffocations. TTD will not be very helpful when there is a huge crowd for sure. So becareful. I read your post about taking CAB/Taxi for just pick ups and drop offs. Who wants to take risk of walking under Red hot conditions, who wants pay large amount in small portions to the taxi/Auto when you are tired of walking or waiting, who wants to take risk of taking unknown taxi which just comes by on road where you will be having lots of worth luggage with you. GOT TO WATCH OUT MEENU. GOOD LUCK.
