For this years outing I'd like to check out SW Andra Pradesh.

I'll be starting from Mahabs and ending in Bangalore

Tirupathi
Kurnool
Lepakshi
Penukonda

*Seems like Hindupur might be a base for Lepakshi and Penukonda?

*Kurnool to Hindupur looks easy with rail and highway connections, but how in the heck am I to get from Tirupathi to Kurnool?

* Am I missing out on something in this area I should visit while I am there? Ya I know- Sai Baba

Tirupati to Kurnool...do you mean a train? There is one trai n from Chennai Egmore to Kacheguda that passes through Renigunta and Kurnool. Also there are buses between Tirupati and Kurnool.

You also have the Venkatadri Express, from Tirupati - a daily train. There a re a couple of other non daily trains (AP Sampark Kranti and Madurai Manmad Express) - both touching Tirupati

looks like trip will be in reverse- BLR-Mahabs. How long a bus/train trip is it from Tirupathi to Kurnool?

any recommendations for lodging in T?
