ramappa temple and pakhal lake & sanctuary

Hello everyone !!

I am planning a trip to warangal the next weekend and plan on visiting ramappa temple and pakhal sanctuary. Was curious to know if you can spot any wildlife in pakhal sanctuary ?

Is there a permit needed from the forest dept to eneter the sanctuary and if there's any decent place for accomodation..

I am planning a two day trip soon, too. Going to the tourism department office soon to find out more.

Forest dept guest house and a PWD guest house at Pakhal seem to be two options, else Warrangal.

Confused about the distance by road. Seems to be 130 or 180km, dunno which... from Hyderabad

Called up the Forest dept office at Pakhal, was told that naxalites blew up the Govt guest house and Forest dept guest house few months back. The other option for accomodation is to stay at forest guest house at "Narsampet" which is 20 kms from Pakhal.

Warangal is 130 kms from Hyd, ramappa temple and Pakhal sanctaury is another 60 kms from Warangal.

Had to cancel the trip last minute as was not sure abt the accomodation. Will wait for your post trip comments to plan for the trip some other time.

Yes, that blowing up thing I was told, too.. just returned from the tourism office.

Also told travelling with family around the forest area not really safe, so am rethinking my trip.

Closest workable accomodation seems to be Warrangal.
