-Vizag and the Araku Valley are nice for a long weekend. You can fly out or take the overnight train from Hyd.
-Hampi is another good spot, but probably roasting in May. |

horsely hills
only two times I drove to that place. except a govt guest house nothing much to see there . not too much altitude (less than 1000m).
but there is a world famous school (rishi valley school founded by philosopher JK ) which I haven't visited. its near to madanapalli and about 150kms from chithur I guess. the guest house has good rooms , bar and swimming pool etc CW |

You can try the boat trip on Godavari river along Papi kondalu (papi hills). The boat trip starts at around 9 in morning and lasts until 7 in the evening. Costs only 5oo rupees with breakfast and lunch. It stops along some temples and stuff. The view is good.
Let me know if u have more questions. |

i dont think there will be enough water for a boat trip (papi kondalu near rajahmundry) during summers. There was already some problem in the last week of Feb & the trips were cancelled. April, May being the hottest months, due to heavy evaporation of water, the boats may get trapped in the sands, hence the trips get cancelled frequently.
you can visit Araku, horsely hills, and better Ananthagiri hill resorts (A.P.Tourism) which are less crowded, which can be reached on way to Araku. you can get their contact numbers on the web site of A.P.Tourism & book in advance, as you are reaching in the peak season. |

araku vally
If u r planning to go to Ap in april or may araku vally is a waste choice as nothing ill be there to see(season in araku is only in months of dec,jan and feb..but the nice way to spend time is just take a train to borra caves(a very very nice trian journey) you have passsinger train (koraput passinger) at around 7:30 in the morning from vizag every day you can reach borracaves by 11:30 or 12:00..the fare is only Rs:21/- if u r travelling in an un reserved compartment but i always advice u to reserve the ticket which ill be around 100 bugs
you can have ur food in the railway station..then go and visit borra caves(5 min walk from railway station) and places aroud (gosthani river) and there are some new water falls(forgot the name)local cabs ill take you there..you can really enjoy it leasurly with out hurrying up here and there wasting time in araku vally..and in the evening at around 5P.M i guess we have a train back to visakhapatnam by which we can reach vizag by 8:30 P.M no need of reservation this time as the train ill not be so rush or even if u miss the train at 5:00P.M you can very well take the bus route with a fair of 50/- bugs..we can get return bus to vizag up till 8:00 or 9:00P.M(dont know exactly) |
