Need help with a leisurely tour of Hyderabad
I will be visiting Hyderabad in June along with my six year old daughter. I would like to take her to see the historical spots of the city. We will have enough time to do one place a day - a very leisurely trip. Can someone point me in the right directions. I definitely need a nice restaurant that we can go to after the visit with clean bathrooms - this is very very important with a six year old.
Thanks!
Thanks!
One place a day,thats good.
Since you are interested in hitstorical spots, here are the places that you shouldnt miss
1-Charminar (obvious one)
2-Golconda Fort
3-Qutb shahi Tombs (most people skip this but in my opinion this is one of the best monuments of hyderabad of the Qutb Shahi Era)
4-Chowmohalla Palace
5-Mecca Masjid
The above 5 are the must see ones
Other Optional spots are
1-Purani Haveli(It has a museum in it)
2-Public Gardens(has as many as 4 Nizam era buildings inside it)
3-Paigah Tombs (one of hyderabad's hidden secrets)
Additionally you can take a Heritage Walk on sundays
an account of it is given here

I agree too.
Historical spots mentioned above are all actually 'historical' and wouldn't provide any sort of amenities to atleast 6 year olds.
June would be hot. So take that into consideration.
Well, restaurants are many, but this will depend on which area of the city you are in.
It isn't a small place
There are other places of interest too.. lumbini park(with laser show - might be attractive to a kid), birla temple, speed boat ride in the lake called Hussain sagar, the zoo is a good one too.
You also have a science museum and a planetarium .. just in case.

Apart of the places mentioned by Akshay kakkar, you could add Jalavihar water park to that list which is close to the birla temple and lumbini park. The Marriot is situated pretty close to these places and offers great view of the lake. The Golconda hotel is also good in masab tank which is close to shopping malls. Novotel and Ista hotel are in hitech city about 20kms.

Reason: the golconda changed to golconda hotel
We will definitely do the kid spots like Lumbini Park, etc but I do want to expose her to the historic places. I am not looking to do an in depth visit of each place but something that will pique her interest in history. I plan on reaching the place and then letting her take the lead in how much she would like to explore.
Thanks for the replies and please keep the replies coming.

Seriously guys, I am not kidding - she is really interested in visiting these places. We have been looking at pictures on the internet and my daughter is keen on seeing them. I don't want to kill her curiosity by not taking her to visit these sights. As a kid, I have been to most of these places as a part of school excursion trips. If it was up to me, I'd rather spend my vacation in Hyd relaxing and shopping.
Best thing you can do is get on the AP Tourism bus (Which most of the tourists do) and they'll take you around all these places in one day... For more info check this link
