Monsoons and their affect

I am thinking of traveling to Hyderabad and perhaps Visag in August are the monsoons worse or better in any particular section of Andhra Pradesh? Are the monsoons debilitating or can one push on through and still have a good time?
thanks

Monsoons are not as bad in Andhra as in some other parts of the country.

That said, Hyderabad and the northern or western part of the State is better; areas around rivers and coastal areas are prone to flooding.

you have no need to worry about monsoons on your travel to Vizag (Visakhapatnam) unless there is a cyclone.

I am wondering about cyclones. Would October be an unwise month for visiting the coast near Bapatla? I've read that Bapatla has been where cyclones cross to land in the past. I would be visiting around mid October, or perhaps not if there's a cyclone risk .... in any case I suppose the sea might be a bit rough?

Thank you for your reply candyrox. Do you mean one need not bother because there are no cyclones in AP in October? Or do you mean one need not bother thinking how or trying to do anything to avoid it... because cyclones so commonly and so unpredictably occur at that time of year?
I'm not quite sure which way to read it.
