Kacheguda station: any good place to eat?
We have an evening train out of Kacheguda, and because of the need to allow extra time for possible traffic, it isn't really convenient to eat before leaving for the station. On the other hand, we may get there with time to spare.
I was wondering if there was anything other than basic railway-station fare at Kacheguda. Any moderately good sit-down restaurants, either in the station or just across the street (we don't want to go too far with luggage)? Many thanks, |

Abids is not far but I only recall the revolving restaurant and I won't call that budget (and a bit hard to find).
Paging the Capt., etc.! |

restaurants near Kachiguda stn
There are several places to eat within 1 KM distance. Tourist Restaurant used to about a furlong, had good vegetarian stuff. At about 1 KM distance there used to a good Veg. place called Ratna restaurant. The Non-Veg places were so so if my memory many years serves me right.

Thanks! But I was looking for something at the station. Across the street would be OK; another taxi ride, not OK.
I was hoping for something like Chennai Central, where there is a branch of the Saravana Bhavan restaurant chain. Anything other than the usual railway station fare. |

You can visit Tourist hotel which is 200 mts from Railway station.
Also just before you take the turn to Tourist hotel, you have another hotel on the main road itself (do not remember the name, but very prominent to find out) The below URL will give you the location of both the above hotels http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=17.389...17&l=0&m=a&v=2 You can also try Mahaveer hotel. http://fullhyd.com/profile/locations/38257/4 I would recommend you to travel by MMTS train to reach kachiguda if your train is between 6:00 and 7:00 PM

Kacheguda has nothing. The main road chilpi speaks of has a few resteraunts, but nothing great. Do look for a clean place and, unless you are used to it, avoid the local (typical Andhra) food. Hot and spicy and can burn holes in your stomach- which you don't want just before a train journey. Best bet would be find a clean place serving dosas, idlis and such |
