Hyderabad Hotel
Any recommendations for hotels in Hyderabad for less that $150.00USD per night? Location isn't too important.

I stayed at Hotel Saiprakash which for the standard was a bargain at around Rs750 in 2004 (around US$20 but probably rather more now). It's near Nampally train station so a good location from which to explore Hyderabad. The lift in the foyer is pretty impressive too.

I recently stayed at the Yatri Niwas as suggested by dear Capt Mahajan, very good value for money. The tarrif includes good south Indian breakfast under a huge tamarind tree. It is located close to the Secunderabad rly. station as well as the airport. I recommend this hotel. The famous Biriyani place "paradise" is a short walk.

Another vote of confidence for Yatri Nivas; I was just there last weekend specifically to check out the rooms. Modest but clean; I think the double occupancy rate is Rs. 1400.
If you want a somewhat different experience, consider staying at a guest house. Zion guest house in Banjara Hills, Road #14, seems nice; I haven't actually stayed there, but I've looked at rooms. More information in this blog posting. Rs. 1300/1600 per night, single/double occupancy, including breakfast. All rooms have A/C. Reservations strongly recommended; every time I've been by to look at them, they've been full up. -- Jerry |

I have just posted a review in the Hotel listing section about the Annapoorna Residency located close to Paradise Circle. Excellent place with attached vegetarian restaurant, good prices (Rs 1250-1400 for A/C standard room) and centrally located.
Disclaimer: I do not have any personal connection with this hotel. Cheers Nattusbs |

A couple of years ago, I stayed at Hotel Harsha, near Nampally Station; my review is here on the forum. It was very clean and the room was good looking. The veg restaurant was quite good, and the room boys were good about bringing food or other services when I needed them.
Somebody did take a cookie or two from the Karachi Bakery gift box that someone had given me, but there were so many cookies that I couldn't have eaten them all anyway! |

We stayed at Hotel Rajdhani back in 2005. The rooms were good for the price but they tried to get us to give them a 2000r deposit. We had a 7:00am train to catch and didn't really want to spend time trying to get it back the next morning as it took a lot of time to find the person to sign us in. They finally agreed to forgo the deposit. I do recall it was under construction while we were there and so it is probably much nicer than when we were there. It was actually pretty good for the price and located very close to the railway station for that am. train.

Dear Captain,
>Yatri Nivas, around 1200 rupees a day, >airconditioned. ##But "$150.00USD per night", means atleast Rs.6,000/- per night? Am I right? So, can we recommend Grand Kakatiya (or) Taj Krishna (or) Fortune Katriya (or) Ramada? :-) |
