Full day excursion from hyderabad.... need suggestions
Hi,
We are a group of around 20+ young people planing for a full day excursion from Hyderabad. It's kinda team outing. We plan to leave iat 7AM in the morning and return hyd by MidNight. We may consider night stay if the place looks really good. Can anybody suggest good places around hyderabad that can be reached in 2-3 hrs (~150km range). We are interested in Trekking, Cruise, rafting or any other adventures.... Please reply if you have been to places around hyd. Thanks... |

I am aware of two options
1. Kondaveedu (this is basically a trekking spot and lot of adventurism) near Guntur a 5.5 hour journey by own vehicle or a overnight journey by train 2. Trek + waterfalls near mallelatirtham enroute srisailam (4.5 hrs by own vehicle from hyderabad) |

No, there is no accommodation at mallelatirtham.
I visited the place in March and the water fall is still flowing though there were no rains. Learnt from the locals that the waterfall will be flowing through out the year.

Thanks. I asked because accomodation can be a problem in those parts.
I seem to have missed this on my Srisailam trips... next time. |

this place is little known and I suggest you take your own transportation to reach the place. The only public transport (APSRTC bus) leaves Achampet at 7:30 AM in the morning and the return bus is at 16:30 hrs from Mallelatirtham. There are no hotels and you must take your own packed food as well. This is a remote place.
If you are reaching Srisailam from Hyderabad, you need to take a left turn at Vatavarlapally. Please get an aireal view from here |

I suggest Gouri Sadan. But getting accommodation for 25 people might be difficult here without prior booking.
At Srisailam, you have lot of mutts and private accommodation. They charge @400/- for an AC room (you can take accommodation near the bus stand). Punnami (AP Tourism guest house is available here, but costly -- check with APTTDC for details) Wherever you stay, I recommend you to have food at Hotel Iylapuram (at gouri sadan) OR Punnami |
