3 day excursion from Hyd - any suggestions?

i have 3 days to do some exploration out from hyderabad in late june. i'm looking for any suggestions on areas to check out a manageable train ride (say, 7 hours or less) from Hyd.

any suggestions in AP? we'll already have done nagarjuna sagar/nalgonda/pocharam...

it's meant to be mild travel - we're more interested in exploring and experience than sight-seeing...

Go to hampi.

Agree, even though Hampi is more than 7 hours train ride.

Thing is, unless you are the religious sort, there is nothing much under that 7 hours except

Drive to Bidar, ok for a once in a while relaxed weekend out, or even a day

Drive to Bijapur/Hampi- ideally, at least a 4/5 day trip

Train to Hampi: 4 days.

Drive to Goa. 12 hours, but need a week at least for this

Srisalam? The reserve is peaceful, may even be better in the monsoon

Warrangal

Vizag, longer than 7 hours anyway/

One option is to stay in resorts near Vijayawada (near Ibrahimpatnam). From here, you can explore
Kondapalli (15 mts journey from Ibrahimpatnam you can trek to the fort - 3 hrs)
Undavalli Caves (1/2 hour journey from Vijayawada bus stand)
Kolleru Lake - (60 kms from vijayawada)
Kondaveedu Fort (Vijayawada - Guntur - Phirangipuram 1.5 hrs journey from Vijayawada and 3 hrs to explore the fort)
