| Permit question when taking boat Just read this. Foreigners wishing to travel to the Andaman Islands by sea will need to get a 30-day permit in advance from the Ministry Of Home Affairs in New Delhi or from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office located in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta (and at the immigration department at Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai airports. Source http://www.smarttravelasia.com/andamans.htm Could anyone confirm this?

| Unless this is brand spanking new its outdated and misleading. For at least a year its permit on arrival by boat just like air flight. Now you do have to give an itinerary, even made up, that justifies 30 days rather than 15. The rumor has been that this might change. But, there is no direct report of such so.. I have a very strong feeling that, despite the smooth site, its way out of date. Its a problem with web pages.. |

| Thanks for the head's up about the itinerary, that one would have stumped me if they asked me on the spot! |

| the trick is to give the appropriate travel onward date as if you already have reservations.. |
