One way ticket to Andaman Islands?

I'm going to visit Andaman on this December. I'm thinking about buying a one way flight, so my duration of stay will be flexible. Is it a good idea? I'm willing to pay more for this flexibility, but how available are Port Blair-Chennai flights without beforehand reservation in December? Can I find myself stuck in the Andamans?

chennai - port blair seems to have just 2 airlines flying in that sector.
december is tourist season - logically methinks, it'd be safer to have reservations beforehand tal.

You can't stay for very long. I think it is 30 days with a possible 15 day extension..

Also you might want to bear in mind that you need a permit for the Andamans, issued on arrival automatically, but the time you're allowed to stay there is limited (30 days maximum. I believe, extendable to 45 days).

I was going to do the same thing but opted for two weeks instead I cant be sure but i thought i read in the tourism website a RTN is required for the permit.I think if i went in with a OW i would stay the full 45days and the rest of my trip would go to pot.Check the flights though I just heard from a recent thread of flight cancellations.
