mode of transport at Havelock
Hi
my husband n i r plannin our honeymoon to andaman in jan 07. jus wanted to know what is the mode of transport in havelock - can v hire a motorbike or something to get around? we r stayin there for 5 days and we dont want ot get stuck in the resort. and we also want to go to see the barren island volcano .. are there day trips from port blair? if there are .. can v have some contact nubmers to call thank u |

Havelock Island is located approximately 4 hours from Port Blair by inter-island ferry.

The Barren Island is about 140 km northeast of Port Blair and is about 3 km in diameter. It has a big crater, about 0.5 km from the shore.
I doubt very much that its open to tourists. |

Yes you can hire a motorbike or a cycle to go around havelock island. Apart from this local buses & rikshaws are also available.
Reg. Barren Island, tourists are not allowed to land on the island, you can only see it from the boat. Check with this agency http://www.anislands.com/ Ronak.

The Volcano at the barren islands has been dorman for the past few months so there are not trip to the volcano. Hire a bicyble or motorbike from the shop at the no3 market and say hi to arjun the guy who rents out the cycle for me will ya lol
