My husband and I want to visit Neil Island for a diving and snorkelling trip in the first week of April. We have 2 kids (8 and 5). Looking for aircon functional accommodation. From the other threads, Hawabill Nest looks like a good option. Can someone who has stayed there tell me how large the rooms are? Is there a King size bed or a queen size bed? Is it possible to include an extra bed/ mattress in the room without us tripping over each other?

I have seen Dolphins at Havelock. The VIP Room is really spacious.
Is the Hawabill room anything close to Dolphins?

Need to figure if I should book one room or two?

Hello to you and your family.Rooms at the Hawabill nest are fine for 2 people,4 would be cramped. You could contact Kingfisher hotel on Neil maybe they have a big room. (sorry i have no contact details for them)
I can fully recommend www.Indiascubaexplorers.com: Enjoy

Thanks Martniez. I was totally sold on indiascubaexplorers based on your several excellent posts Have mailed them yesterday. I'll check with them too re rooms. Otherwise, I'll just book 2 rooms since the rates seem quite reasonable.

One more question : My 8 year old daughter wants to snorkel. She is a good swimmer in the pool. Can she snorkel close to the jetty? Or will we need to pay for a boat ride?

Many snorkelling sites around Neil.
You may want to phone indiascuba explorers because there is no internet on Neil, and the only way they will get your message is if one of them happens to go to Port Blair.
If you want to book Hawabill ,it must be done in Port Blair at the A+N tourist board. See www.and.nic.in

Tickets booked to Neil. 5th to 12th April. Slight problem with Hawabill. Rooms are not available on 6th night. All other days are fine. Can someone who has stayed at Tango Beach resort recently tell me how the cottages are? Any idea how hot it gets in April? Is an aircon necessary?

Hi ,I always stay at Tango. The lower cottages are better at that time because there is more shade. I would not worry about booking because it is cheaper to just turn un. Coconhuts also has shady cottages.

I am talking about the older rooms that are not in the pictures.
Where it is written "standard rooms" it is also written 7+3 this is relating to rooms, brick rooms rather than bamboo...These 3 rooms have more shade than the 7 others. If a decent bamboo hut is ok for you then the huts at the lower part of the resort have more shade, likewise the 3 rooms are at the lower part and have more shade. If you want to book online you will be paying twice as much more than if you chose a room and do the business on arrival.

I was planning to get Johann to book a room for the first night. Will he be able to get good rates? With 2 kids, I am a bit over-cautious and need a pre-booked room.
Also, we are going snorkelling and diving. Any advice on sites that are not to be missed?
