hi, martinez!
the government guesthouse was exellent for comfort and perfect service. very friendly and what i needed after hurting my ribs, getting out of the water, onto the jetty and perfect when it was rainy. 800rps at the time, last year.
also, close to good snorkelling near the jetty.

Send a message via Yahoo to hitanshu
That would be havelock island.

Else you can spend one day in port blair.
one day for havelock
one day for corals.
one day anywhere else (mud volcanoes and all?)

8k may definitely make the cut

Hi Jayeeta

I am just back from Andaman, may be I can help you with your queries.
Most of the hotels would ask for advance for booking which you can do by depositing money in their bank account.
For boats you can check with the hotel you are staying in, they can get you the tickets (obviously they will charge extra for it)
There is a frequent Boat service from P.B to Havelock.
I went to Neil from P.B but that boat goes to havelock via Neil.
Let me know if you need more info.

Accomodation prices, when quoted on the internet, are most often inflated far in excess of what the deal can be done for when you are face to face with the seller. My advice to anybody travelling to the Andamans, or anywhere else for that matter,is to arrive and negociate. At Christmas and new year prebooking is probably advisable.

Yes the rains affect everything there and most inter island travel is by ferry which stops if the sea gets very choppy

Thanks Martinez..we have got our tickets on 15th Nov. and would be back on 20th nov.

Do you think would it be better to book an agent for the tour???One agent is asking for 1000/ per head per day including fooding, lodging ang travelling from there to different places.....

I am not sure what to do as i have no idea...My parents are insisting on going with agents as there will be no tention after reaching there about booking hotels or other facilities....

I am not getting confidnce on Agents...

My answer to your question dear sir,is that i have never used a travel agent, and,i am never likely to use one. Many times i have seen people being herded around because they perhaps lack the imagination to do something for themselves.1000 rs is a whole heap of money for someone to show you around for a day.
