Are there ANY ATM'S in PORT BLAIR AND HAVELOCK ISLAND?

Most of the hotels wont accept credit cards, so you will have to make sure you have cash with you at all times. Heres some money info about Port Blair that I had researched for before I went however I was paranoid I was carrying enough cash at all times and didnt use the facilities-i think its unlikely to find ATMs as you go deeper inside the islands.

The State Bank of India changes cash and travelers checks (9 am to 12 noon, 1pm-3pm).

Island Travels (33034), near Sampat Lodge & the clock in Aberdeen Bazaar, changes money efficiently daily except Sun 9am-1pm, 2 to 4 pm. The higher-class hotels usually change money.

ICICI Bank ATM (Moulana Azad Rd & Foreshroe Roads) accepts MaterCard, VISA and Cirrus.

Any suggestions on hotels inPort Blair / Havelock. My sisiters will be looking at mid range(better class of cockroaches)and as I am currently on Debt Row working my way up from Nothing to Xtreme poverty. My choices would be Budget!rubbing shoulders with other slumdog millionaires.

There are a handful of ATMs in Port Blair and (as of this year) one on Havelock. They should take mainstream credit cards and debit cards without too much problem. Most have a limit of 20,000Rs (or less) per day, so keep that in mind if you are loading up with cash to head to remote parts. You won't find ATMs anywhere else in the Andamans.
