| Havelock Silversand Vs Barefoot Hi All, I am planning to visit Andaman in month of Dec. I am planning to book Silversand or Barefoot in Havelock island. I did get good reviews about barefoot resort but did not get any information about Silversand resort. They do have website but I want to know if someone has stayed in Silversand or know about it. Also I would like to know which is better beach in Havelock is it beach #5 or beach # 7. Any kind of help will really be appreciated. Thanks |

| beach#7 is said to be superior (although to me both were great) but it has only one resort in its vicinity, which is barefoot. all others are in beach#3 and #5 and on the way. barefoot is expensive but good if you want to escape hotel rush.

| Barefoot is the best resort in Havelock. However comparing prices Wildorchid also looks good. But if you don't mind the price then stay at Barefoot. Beach No. 7 (Radhanagar) is def. the best beach. Ronak. |

| Hi, I stayed in silversand for my honeymoon around 1 1/2 yrs back. they have very good & clean cottages, with open air bathrooms etc but it is a bit expensive as compared to others they have a nice beach too. Additional info The island is very small with only around 10kms of road on the island so you can reach radhanagar beach from any part of the island within 10~15mins on bike. the island poppulation is around 10,000. also rangat is only 2 hrs from havelock so don't miss that like we did ![]() Enjoy Nilu |

| Hi, We went diving from Havelock island januari 2007, staying at Cafe del Mar. There were simple a-frame huts, some nicer huts with bathroom and we stayed in one of about 6 Sea-view cottages. which have their own bathroom. Not air-conditioned, but we didn't need that. Realy nice people at the restaurant, very-very helpful with everything. Diving was fantastic, got my PADI certification at the Barefoot Scuba which is in the resort. It's located at beach nr 3. | Nilu (and others) What is the best way (travel logistics, time) you might recommend for the following route: Havlock- Rangat- Port Blair (or vice versa). I will be visiting Havelock early Jan, and wanted to go via Rangat on the way in or out. At the moment, we only have ferry tickets booked for Port Blair to Havelock and back. |

| Suruchi, The route is port blair --> havelock ---> rangat. you can reach havelock & rangat via ferry. ferries usually start early in the morning from port blair around 6:00 am. port blair ---> havelock is almost 4 hrs by ship & havelock --> rangat is another 2 hrs. i don't think you can directly go to havelock without landing in port blair. enjoy your trip!!! |
