Havelock budget accomodation

I'm just checking if anybody has any up-to-date information regarding budget accomodation on Havelock. I understand that there are tents available on beach #7. Are there any other options available?

How about on the other beaches? Any first hand recommendations?

I'm also wondering about the booking procedure for government accomodation. I want to just show up in Havelock and have a look myself, so I don't want to book something without seeing it.

So if anybody has any advice for when I step off the ferry in Havelock, please tell.

There are lots of budget options to stay at Havelock

There is one place called Bay View Inn. You can chek my review & see some pics by clicking this link

Regarding tent accomodation on beach no. 7, they will have to be booked in advance from Port Blair. On beach no. 5 there is one more govt. accomdation called Dolphin Yatri Niwas, again to be booked in advance from Port Blair.

There is one options called Island Vinnie.

Apart from this there are no. of budget accomodation available which you can check out once you land in Havelock. May be you could hire a rikshaw & ask the driver to show you some options.

Ronak.

There are places strung all the way along the East Coast of the island, from beaches #1-#5 - just walk along and pick whatever one suits you.

Yes,Conor is very right.I am just back from the island as recently as last weekend, and I found at least about 5/6 resorts built in the style of "Dolphin Resort" which can be termed costly in comparison with the new ones,as in one of them I found accomodation for two person can cost as lowly as Rs.400/- with all the facilities inlcuding a piece of sea beach from where you can enjoy the sun rise as well.
The name of the newly built resort is "Sundaze Beach Resort,Beach #1".
Besides, there is another near the Jetty with the name "Sea View" which has about 3 rooms and might charge you the same, but can accomodate more than 2 persons if you can adjust. These are some of the most lowly priced accomodation that I came to know about during my stay there. Hope this helps.
