From Havelock to Neil and return

Hello IndiaMike,

Tried to research ways to travel between Havelock & Neil Island and could not find something concrete like the Timings and types of ships, availability, how to get a ticket(without touts)

Someone with Andaman trip please shed lights on it.
This will help all tourists willing to travel to Neil Island from Havelock rather than Port Blair.

Hello,
I travelled from havelock to neil during my visit to andamans in february. there is a government ferry from havelock to neil the approximate timing of departure is 1 pM or 1:30
it takes approximately one and half hour to reach neil.
The deck usually gets filled up and you have to travel the journey standing. however, the seats in the basements are empty.
so if you request any staff member he will guide you down and you can complete the journey there. but no views of the sea from there

The captain of the ship is very pleasant man and he will strike a conversation with you. there is usually queue at the Ticket counter but you just need to reach there half an hour and you will get the ticket.

If you want to go to Neil from Havlock you have to plan the journey beforehand because normally ferries are very crowded. There are some people who arrange the ticket. They are not touts. One of them arrangd everything fo us. Ond the journey was very pleasant.

Can anyone please let me know on following
1. How easy or difficult is to take ferry tickets for Havelock to Niels at Havelock during peak season i.e. December. If it is difficult then what are the ways to get?
2. Is it easy to get the seat on ferry while for return to PB from Niels in December.?
