expenditure considerations

Hello folks,
Can somebody please inform as to the basic cost of living in the Andamans ie..Basic Indian food of a working class standard.
Is basic budget accomadation available at the likes of Havelock and Neil.???
And finally is the water clear and good for swimming.

Hi Robert, you can keep costs down to very cheap, easily uinder 500 Rupees p/day. There are budget places on Havelock and Neil, and dhabas in the little villages.

The water is about the cleanest I have ever swam in, you're in for a treat....
